Last month I blogged a little about . I feel like I’m at a bit of a cross-road as far as a career goes. I’ve been a stay-at-home mum for over seven years now and our youngest will be starting school in two years. It seems to me that now is the time to find something that I really love doing and find a way to make some money doing it so that I am set up with a career or business that I love for when the kids are all at school.
Basically, I have no idea what it is that I want to do. One thing that has been rolling around in the back of my mind for a long time is that I enjoy doing research. It doesn’t really matter what the subject is, I just enjoy finding new information. I figured if I could find something that involved doing research I would be half-way there. The other criteria were that I would be available outside of school hours and during school holidays.
Enter The 30 Day Challenge. It’s what I’ve been doing all month (instead of being here). The challenge itself is basically a fun (and free) way to learn about internet marketing. It focuses on niche websites which, as it turns out, require quite a bit of research to create the content and quality products. Hmmmm.
I’m still not entirely sure what my future holds as far as earning a living goes, but I’m giving some serious thought to what business opportunities internet marketing could present. The best thing about it is I could feasibly take it in any direction I wanted, which is very attractive. It also ticks the other boxes as far as flexibility of hours is concerned and is entirely relocatable (should we ever decide to pick up sticks and ).
Fortunately I’m in a position where I can take my time and think very carefully about my future. I’m feeling more settled now though, like I at least have some sign posts to guide me. Let’s see where I end up!
If you’d like to read more about The 30 Day Challenge, some of my fellow Team Lightening members have been blogging about it.

Good luck with the rest of the challenge. I’m keen to read more about it, and you know, do some research on it :o)
(See, I can be funny and supportive, all in the one comment)
Seriously though, I look forward to your impressions once you’ve finished the challenge.

Congratulations on making it through the challenge Journeyer. I like you have used this as an opportunity to think about where I want to head.
The best thing about the 30 DC was that it shows you a process that you take and implement on to so many projects and not have to risk the families savings.
I looking forward to seeing what all the Team Lightening Members are doing at the end of the year!
