Cray Pots at Port Welshpool wharf

These are a selection from some photos I’ve just added to my gallery from our wet and windy visit to Port Welshpool.  They were taken during our recent trip to south Gippsland, when we stayed in Toora.

Port Welshpool is a small town with a reasonably large fishing fleet.  It was home to the Seacat ferry that operated between Victoria and Georgetown in Tasmania.  The passenger terminal still stands empty on the wharf.  During summer, Port Welshpool is a popular family holiday spot for its safe beaches and proximity to Wilson’s Promontory and the Strzelecki Ranges.

Have sent this on to my hubby’s family. His family is from here and I am sure they will love to see them.

I hope they like them! We were visiting with my in-laws and my FIL can’t walk too well anymore. Unfortunately, we only got to have a short walk around the wharf.
