Menu Planning – Planning Ahead

in Homekeeping

This week my menu planning was unbelievably simple.  Two meals.  That’s it.

Last week I put a little forthought into my menu plan.  The Thinker will be away all week, so I decided to double up on most of the things we had for dinner so I could freeze some.  I don’t mind eating the same things again and I’m sure the kids won’t (with maybe a little bribing).  In fact, a couple of the meals in the freezer could easily be transformed into something else if I have the time or inclination.

The two new meals that I did plan are where the bribery comes in.  Sausages & veg and homemade pizzas – both favourites of the kids.

I am thinking about popping a meal or two in the freezer every week for those nights when it’s very busy.  It’s so easy to double up at the cooking stage and the advantages are great.  Another plus for menu planning!
