Smiley Saturday

Smiley SaturdayAs part of my Happiness Project, I’ll be taking part in Lightening’s Smiley Saturday’s a bit more regularly.

Some of the things that had me smiling this week were:

  • Cinderella has learnt how to skip properly. She had been the only one in her dancing class that couldn’t get the co-ordination right. This week, after watching the other girls intently she did it perfectly for the whole length of the hall. She gave me that look of self satisfaction as she reached the other end. I don’t know if my grin or hers was larger.
  • I overheard Little Mermaid singing an almost word perfect rendition of “We are Australian” while listening to her iPod.
  • The Thinker and kids made a window box. They’ve painted it lavender, which I was a bit dubious about at first. I needn’t have worried though. It looks lovely filled with some ferns and impatiens.
  • My peas have peas on them! The girls and I nearly did a little jig around the yard when we found them. We’ve been going out every day since and counting how many are there.
  • Journeyer’s Chronicles is growing. I get such a buzz to see a few more visits, comments and subscribers. Thank you so much to everyone who stops by. I really appreciate your comments and hope that you continue to enjoy.

I hope you all have a great Saturday. Don’t forget to drop by to Lightening Online to read the other Smiley Saturday posts.

I love SS for giving me the incentive to look back at the simple reasons to be grateful and smile.
What lovely reasons Journeyer -especially the last one ;)

Lots of reasons to smile there. I love it when children finally ‘get’ something after trying and trying to conquer it.

Isn’t it fun when the kids get something they’ve been trying to understand for so long? I think it’s one of the best things about parenting - watching our baby birds test their wings and fly.

And I know I LOVE when I get comments on my blog - hint, hint!

Oh yes - A lot of wonderful reasons to smile there. Skipping and singing and flowers and… Peas. How I love shelling fresh peas when I was little!

Thank you for sharing the smiles around. :)

A Happiness Project? How cool is that! I’ll have to check it out. I’ve copied the link for later. Congrats to Cinderella on learning to skip properly … and Little Mermaid learning all the words to the song. Sounds like the Thinker & kids did a good job and you’ll enjoy the window box once you plant it. How ‘kewl’ to have ‘peas’ already! I’ve been harvesting a few strawberries each day myself. I’m happy your Chronicles is growing. I enjoy MY visits each week here.

I’m sorry to be a day late to the Smiley Saturday party, but my computer balked in the HEAT WAVE yesterday and I had to turn it off. I’ve posted my Smiley Saturday just now (on Sunday morning) and hope to visit others either later today or during the week. I hope you’ll drop by Small Reflections as time permits.
      Hugs and blessings,

Storyteller - Mmmm, strawberries. I’m jealous. I never have any luck with strawberries. I don’t know what I do wrong - they always curl up & die on me.

I’m glad you enjoy your visits here. I appreciate you popping in each week :-)
Cerebralmum - Thank you. You just reminded me of picking bucket loads of peas from a crop near my hometown when I was young. The plants were almost as tall as I was. Great fun.

What do you think? I'd love to get your feedback.
