A new look

in Bits & Pieces

This morning I happened to look at Journeyer’s Chronicles on another computer using a different browser to mine. What I though was a nicely formatted theme was all higgeldy-piddeldy on the other computer. :-( Aaarrrgh! So guess what I’ve been doing all day? Tweaking, learning and tweaking again.

The result is the blog theme you’re now looking at. I’ve checked it in two PC’s and I think this one is more universal than the last one. There is still a little bit of work to go, but I’ve got the bulk of it done. I really liked the colours in my previous theme, so I’ve tried to replicate them in the new one. Fingers crossed it will all work without a hitch and I don’t have to do too much more.

I am still yet to tinker with my header etc when I changed theme a month ago! Like you I had intended to incorporate some of the feel from my last blog (the dots) onto the new look. I will hopefully tackle it on the long weekend.

The colours are very calm.

The old format looked good to me in Firefox- I liked your header.
This one looks good too.

The new theme looks great (and the old one did too). I use Firefox which tends to have a lot more problems than IE, and I always forget to test in IE! Good luck with the the rest of your tweaking – it can get addictive!

Thanks everyone. I use Firefox as well. It all fell to pieces in IE though. I wasn’t sure if it was a browser or a Mac v Windows problem. Seems like it was browser related. I think I’m happy with the new look. It was all starting to look a bit wacky at 11pm last night :-)

Trish – I really liked the header initially too. But after looking at it for a few weeks, it started to annoy me that it took up about 1/2 the page and I had to scroll down to see any content. That’s why I chose a smaller header this time.

PlanningQueen – I liked your dots. I think that’s what prompted me to stop at your site when I first found it.

Guera – I noticed you’re doing some tweaking as well. You’re right, once you start…
