I am not sure how I feel about this since I have always been home with my kids. I guess my gut feeling is to let employers make their own decision. Maybe they will lose some great employees if they don't give paid maternity leave, but that is their choice to make. Someone somewhere will have to bear the cost too and I can't help but think it'll be the consumer (as they tend to always be where the buck stops).
